The office-bearers of the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee unanimously passed a motion condemning the alleged conspiracy orchestrated by the Union Government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party to bring down the democratically elected State Government headed by the Congress in Uttarakhand. This was among the motions passed in the monthly meeting of the Pradesh Congress Committee office-bearers held at the Congress Bhawan in Dehradun on Sunday.
Addressing PCC office bearers at the monthly meeting presided over by PCC vice-president Abdul Razzak with PCC general secretary Tarun Pant coordinating, PCC vice-president Jot Singh Bisht alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party had orchestrated conspiracy to bring down a democratically elected State Government of Uttarakhand using money and muscle power. The President’s rule was also unnecessarily imposed in Uttarakhand even though there was no major law and order problem in the State nor were there valid grounds for imposing President’s rule.
He further alleged that the BJP conspiracy had affected the pace of developmental work execution in the State. The PCC office bearers unanimously passed a motion to condemn these political happenings while also passing another motion to thank members of the Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) who maintained their position of alliance with the then Congress-led State Government and stood with it during difficult times.
PCC general secretary Ram Singh Keda proposed a motion to thank former chief minister Harish Rawat and the PCC President Kishore Upadhyay for boosting the morale of the Congress party cadre by successfully conducting the Congress’ loktantra Bachao, Uttarakhand Bachao campaign.
Further focusing on need for publicising the Congress party in the Vidhan Sabha constituency areas of the nine turncoat MlAs, the PCC State spokesman RP Ratudi suggested that banners and hoardings should be put up to present developmental works undertaken by the erstwhile Congress-led State Government in the constituencies of the nine turncoat MlAs as achievements of the party. Party workers’ meets should also be organised in these nine constituencies, he further suggested.
