BJP chief accuses Rawat of making false promises

Training his gun on the Harish Rawat Government, Uttarakhand State BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat on Saturday said the Chief Minister is not fulfilling his commitment he had made while meeting the BJP MlAs during the Assembly’s winter session. During the Assembly session, when BJP MlAs met and demanded development works in their constituencies  be reviewed the CM promised that after the session, he would convene a review meeting involving the constituencies under the saffron party.  However, nothing has happened so far on this count, the BJP leader said.

He further alleged that the State Government is indulging in cheap flippancy on the front of development. “The CM is rolling out flamboyant promises. However, they are proving on the ground to be false ones.   Despite being at the helm of the government, he is   pathetically unable to rein in his  Cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats. They are found making allegations against   one another at regular intervals. We organized a protest rally up to the secretariat recently and things continuing this way, we would go for stir again in the coming days to awaken the long hibernating government to the grim reality of the State,” he said.

Quite often we find the Cabinet Ministers and the bureaucrats trading charges against one another. It is clear that the bureaucrats are defying the Ministers. If the Ministers are in such a predicament we can well imagine the plight of the  common people. Aware of how things are, the CM said his order is running like jalebi (round-shaped sweets). This particular statement is enough for one to understand the grim drift of things. “With the government’s writ not running in the administration, those running the show should introspect, get to the fount of things and then go for the course correction. In case they fail to make their writ run they had better quit,” the BJP leader said.
