Chamoli also held public rallies at Forest Colony, Tilak road, Race Course, Officers’ colony, Bakralwala, Deepnagar, Karanpur and Kaulagarh. later, while addressing the gathering at Bar Association’s hall in Dehradun on Thursday, Chamoli also left no chance to corner the Congress-led State Government over the slower pace of development in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand.
He said that corruption is rampant in the State Government and further lamented that despite the fact Congress is in at the Centre and State, more steps are yet to be introduced by the Governments for pushing the State and country on the path of development. Chamoli also termed one year Congress rule in Uttarakhand is complete failure.
“It is surely a matter of concern that the State Government reduces VAT on IMFl and hike the prices of lPG cylinders,” he said, adding that he had sent a proposal to the State Government to regularise slums and was also passed in the Cabinet during BJP Government but the Congress-led State Government had quashed the order. Chamoli also expressed his concern over the issue that the Congress-led State Government termed Mehboob colony, lohiya Nagar, Brahampuri etc. as
unauthorised colonies of the capital city despite the fact the residents have been living in these colonies for years.
He also apprised gathering about the works done during his tenure as Mayor of MCD in the past five years.
