While alleging that Chief Minister Harish Rawat had violated Model Code of Conduct by setting up an enquiry against party activists, BJP State spokesman Suresh Joshi lamented that the rate of development has stopped since the Congress was voted to power in Uttarakhand.
He said that the change of face in the State was not going to be proved much beneficial for Uttarakhand as the Congress-led Sate Government lacked vision for the development.
While addressing the mediapersons in a Press conference held at BJP Mahanagar office here on Saturday, Joshi alleged that an enquiry had been launched by the Chief Minister taking cognisance of the letter sent by an unknown person in the Vikas Nagar, Dehradun, which was one of the ways to mentally harass the party activists.
“It is clearly violation of the model code of conduct to set up an enquiry or commission without taking the permission from the Election Commission,” he claimed, adding that the Congress Government was yet to take effective steps for redressing the grievances of those villagers who faced the brunt of natural calamities in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of the State.
Claiming that BJP would comfortably win to all five seats in the State, Joshi said that UPA-II and Congress-led State Governments were equally responsible for the rampant corruption and the hike in the prices of essential commodities in the country and state as well.
According to him, the BJP candidates have already started their campaigning but the Congress is yet to field its candidates and claimed that Congress candidates will surely face the defeat in the upcoming general elections. He also expressed his concern over the issue that that condition of basic amenities along the Char Dham Yatra route is worst and the state government is yet to take effective steps for the reconstruction of infrastructure in the higher parts of the state.
