Considering the limited resources of the state, the big projects not executed due to fund shortage should be included in the State sector plans while the smaller developmental projects should be included in the district plan. The Pauri district magistrate Sushil Kumar said this while monitoring execution of the previous year’s district plan, state sector and central-aided plans at district headquarter Pauri on Friday.

Kumar stressed that physical verification of the works by different departments  should be conducted mandatorily by officers of the task force with focus on quality and transparency. It was stated in the meeting that in the previous financial year, against the allocated Rs 102 crore, only Rs 58 crore budget was sanctioned by the government in the district plan and against this amount Rs 57.10 crore were spent by the different departments.

The district magistrate instructed sports and youth welfare officials to jointly conduct district level sports activities. He also directed officials of the agriculture, animal husbandry and horticulture departments to execute public interest schemes effectively. He also instructed the drinking water department to maintain all pumping schemes including hand pumps in the district. He said that the department that has completed 75 per cent work, must complete the remaining work in the financial year. The district magistrate further stressed that the departments should present the scheme for the financial year and seek plans from the district planning committee members. Chief development officer Vijay Jogdande, DDO Ved Praksh and other officers were also among those present in the meeting.
