BHEl, Haridwar, has earned a remarkable achievement with the first-time fabrication of the stator frame of 800 MW generator. The stator frame has been indigenously fabricated in Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP), the main unit of BHEl Haridwar.
With the manufacture of this stator frame, not only BHEl’s, but our country’s capability to make supercritical thermal sets, has been further enhanced. The stator frame body was formally inaugurated for further processing by the Executive Director of BHEl Haridwar, Prakash Chand.
It is worth noting that BHEl is already manufacturing and supplying 660 MW supercritical turbines and generators.
The stator frame is the most important component of a generator and requires high-level of precision and craftsmanship for its fabrication. The unique feature of this 800 MW stator frame fabrication is that it is over 10 metres long, 4.5 metres wide and weighs more than 75 metric tonnes.
Addressing to the gathering, Prakash Chand congratulated all the employees for this great engineering achievement and attributed the success of BHEl Haridwar to its dedicated and skilled workforce.
Various general managers, senior officers, union representatives and a large number of employees were also present.
