RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat urged the Sangh activists and others to work together to protect the environment. Besides, he stressed on village development and social engineering to uplift the down-trodden sections of the society.

He presided over the second day meeting of RSS blocks and regional heads coming from three regions held at Nishkam Trust of Bhupatwala area of the district on Saturday. The discussion was held in four sessions. Among other subjects that were taken up for discussion were the demerit of nuclear family, disintegration of the joint  family and the ethos  associated with it. “However, the main focus was on social regeneration of the Hindu society,” said one of the participants.

Bhagwat urged those associated with RSS to work hard to protect the environment from the hazards it is facing on myriad fronts. The ecosystem of nature has to be preserved  at any cost to ensure survival of the human race, he stressed while laying emphasis on dense plantation drive.

Expressing concern over   the present trend of the people  preferring nuclear family to joint family, he said it is denting into the age-old familial and social values. The culture of give and take based on  mutual sacrifice is on the wane, he said.

He  asked the RSS  workers to embody the values inherent deep in the hoary culture  of India. “You must personify  in your respective areas what RSS stands for,” he said.

He also stressed on  social engineering  as a tool to uplift  the  section of the people who are vegetating  despite development being made the  watchword of the country.
