The Election commission has decided to conduct Bhagwanpur Assembly bypoll on April 11. The seat fell vacant after the death of the Cabinet Minister and BSP MlA Surendra Rakesh in February. As per the Chief Electoral Officer Radha Raturi, notification would be issued on March 17. Candidates can file their nominations till March 24. Scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on March 25 while nominations can be withdrawn till March 27. Polls would be held on April 11 from 8 am to 5 pm and the counting would be taken up on April 15. Code of Conduct would remain in force till April 18 in Haridwar with immediate effect.
