BEd-TET qualified youths' delegation to meet CM

Published on:

A delegation of agitating federation of Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) qualified unemployed youths would meet Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Friday at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The federation is demanding that the State Government should immediately start the halted recruitment process of the primary teachers in the state.

The General Secretary of federation Amit Kashyap told The Pioneer that Chief Minister has accepted their demand of a meeting at AIIMS. He said that the education Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani has assured that the appointments would be soon given and asked to withdraw the agitation but the federation would end its agitation only after the appointments are given. On its single point agenda of jobs in the Primary teacher cadre the B.Ed. / TET federation is on a path of agitation since January 5 this year. The agitation of the federation was prompted by the recent decision of the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) in which it clearly directed that the posts of the primary teachers should be filled only by the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) qualified candidates.

Under pressure from the agitation of the Federation the education department initiated recruitment process for 1891 posts of primary teachers.
