Paying glowing tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Friday a day before his death anniversary, CM Rawat said the father of the nation’s contribution to the attainment of freedom is stupendous. “No tribute is enough for his contribution and his sacrifice for the cause of the nation’s freedom, unity and communal harmony. His death anniversary which would be observed with due solemnity on Saturday is an occasion for all of us to take pledge of following the beacon the Mahatma embodies. Wordy verbosity and ceremonial observance are not enough to pay tribute to the great soul. We must follow him in deeds on the ground tirelessly with focus trained on the unprivileged. This is how we can fulfill the dream of the nation becoming vibrant with the common people’s active participation in the development programmes as envisioned by the Mahatma,” he said.
