Tehri District Magistrate Sonika has suspended Balganga Tehsil Wasil Baki Nawees (WBN) Ajay Pal Singh Negi  who was also  the stamp assistant with immediate effect  on the charge of using Additional District Magistrate’s signature to release stamp licenses to the vendors. Negi had allegedly  misappropriated the Government revenue in the process. Sonika has appointed Ghansali Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chatar Singh Chauhan to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and also directed him to submit the report within 15 days. She warned that same action would follow if any other department officer or employee is found involved in such forgery.

Sources say that Negi was posted as the stamp assistant at Balganga Tehsil in the district in 2012. He had allegedly released license for stamp sellers while  forging  the signature of the ADM.   Besides,  Negi had not  allegedly submitted the license fee at the treasury, causing thus   loss of Government revenue.  While commenting on the matter, ADM Dr Shiv Kumar Baranwal said that as per investigation,  Negi had forged his signature to release stamp license to the vendors.
