Balawala murder: Cops release sketches of two suspects

Published on:

Based on description provided by the victims, Dehradun police on Monday released sketches of two suspects involved in the armed burglary that resulted in the murder of a 23-year-old person and injury of four persons of the same family in Balawala area by five unidentified criminals on September 10 morning.

However, despite the deadline fixed by the Chief Minster to police to solve the case in three days, Dehradun Police are still clueless about the identity of the offenders.

After presiding over a meeting with senior police officers on Sunday evening, the Chief Minister extended the deadline by a week by strictly directing police to crack the case failing which he warned them of action. Sources said the CM had directed police to launch verification drives and intensify patrolling at many places, including outskirts, in the district. In the meeting, police officers sounded helpless to complete verification of the residents because of police remaining engaged in several events like protests and rallies carried by several organisations in the state capital from time to time.

SP City Ajay Singh said based on description provided by the victims of the burglary, police have released sketches of two suspects involved. Several teams have been formed and they have been deployed at various places, including districts of western Uttar Pradesh. Police are reviewing all the past armed burglary cases and those having criminal records are being grilled.
