In connection with the accidental death of sub-inspector and Cantt Police Station in-charge DP Bahuguna, a case under sections 279 and 304A of the IPC was registered against the bikers in Cantt Police Station on Thursday. SI-Bahuguna was seriously injured after he was hit by a two-wheeler, speeding from the opposite direction at Panditwari on Monday evening. He died on Tuesday morning.
Cantt Police Station in-charge and sub-inspector Vinod Gusain said that both the bike- borne persons- Ishu Dayal (17) resident of Premnagar and Shantanu Thapa (18) resident of FRI- are out of danger. Pillion rider Thapa was discharged from the hospital on Thursday while bike driver Dayal is being treated in the private hospital. A case under sections 279 and 304 A of IPC has been registered against the duo in the police station, he added.
It should be mentioned here that SI Bahuguna who was on duty at barricading near Panditwari police post had asked two bike- borne persons to stop for checking. The bike driver lost the control and hit him hard. Bahuguna and bike- borne duo were seriously injured and they were rushed to a local private hospital. Bahuguna was declared dead by doctors at 1 am on Tuesday.
