With an intention to bridge the gap between Government and party workers, Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has called a day-long meeting at his residence on Friday. Talking to media, Uttarkahand PCC general secretary Vijay Saraswat and party spokesperson Dhirendra Pratap said that 450 delegates were expected to attend this meeting.

The objective is to streamline the development programmes in the State. Bahuguna wants to give a signal that the State Government is in power due to the hectic efforts of the Congress workers and their views would be considered by the bureaucrats while making development plans.

All 13 district Congress presidents along with seven district level office-bearers, city Congress presidents and block level presidents are expected to join the daylong proceedings. Besides, frontal organisation leaders of Congress Seva Dal, Youth Congress, NSUI and Mahila Congress would also be joining this meeting. The Chief Minister has decided to meet all the 24 groups separately. The State Congress president Yashpal Arya would remain present on this occasion to supervise the whole programme, they added.
