Bahuguna avoids queries on party matters

Published on:

Whereas Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna was quite assertive in giving a piece of advice to his own party leaders who are quite vocal against their own Government on some issues and in cautioning the bureaucracy against complacency during his visit here on Sunday, he was found quite defensive while interacting with the media on the sidelines of the public meet that he addressed at Halduchaur.

The official press meet that was scheduled in the afternoon after the public meeting and review meeting with officials concerned, turned out to be a no show for many a journalists who had reached the public meeting site at the Halduchaur only to know the Government’s position on some important public interest issue.

While the Chief Minister responded when one or two questions were raised by the inquisitive reporters on some developmental matters, he refused to talk on party related matters. However, when representatives from the media continued to raise questions on some party related matters, CM Bahuguna accompanied by local MlA and State labour and Dairy Development Minister Harish Chandra Durgapal and others, left the hall thronged by the media personnel from both electronic and print.  In the meanwhile, many a journalists  perhaps disappointed with this inconclusive media briefing, could also be heard saying this is the culture of the Congress how it treats the media.
