Bagasudhar Govt Inter College cries for attention

Published on:

The State Government’s claim of improving the basic amenities in Government schools under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) are under serious question as the students of Government Inter College at Bagasudhar in Chamba block of Tehri district are still forced to receive education in the open due to the damaged condition of the school building which has not been repaired for the last 40 years.

The condition of the school building is such that the students fearing for their life have refused to enter the building fearing the collapse of the roof at any given moment. The school building that was built about 40 years ago is still awaiting repair works with the demands for repairs by villagers being ignored consistently by the authorities.

The District Panchayat member Rekha Pundir informed that the education department and local administration have been informed about the damaged building but no action has been initiated so far by the officials concerned. locals point out that at a time when Government is claiming to be executing various measures to improve the standard of education in Government schools, the condition of the Government inter college in Bagasudhar deflates claims being made by officials.
