Bad karma of ex-CM cannot be hidden, says Rawat

Alluding to reported differences between the two former Chief Ministers belonging to the BJP, Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that the “bad karma” of one of the former Chief Ministers cannot remain hidden from the people of Haridwar. Without taking names, Rawat further said that the people know about one of the BJP leaders reportedly wanting to acquire land of the Nirmal Akhada. The CM said this while attending a programme in Haridwar.

Speaking to The Pioneer, Rawat said, “Some people think that by slinging mud on others, they themselves would appear spotless, which is just not possible. Everyone is familiar with the name Namdhari who tried to acquire the ashram of Nirmal Sampraday and was given full support by the former Chief Minister from BJP,” he said without naming the person. “It is their (BJP’s) old penchant for encroaching upon and acquiring properties for commercial use,” added the CM.

When asked for his view, the Nirmal Akhada head Mahant Gyan Dev Singh said, “We would not allow anyone to purchase or sell the property of Nirmal Panchayati Akhada which was made by the renunciates of this Akhada. The court case is still on. Some dubious persons had entered the property in the past but now no one can.”

Presiding over the function of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha at Kankhal on Sunday noon, Rawat said that the nation and society should be accorded priority above the distinctions like religion, sect and creed. Community effort is a must for the nation to progress consistently. “We can make progress by encompassing all religions and communities. Any nation progresses only in an atmosphere of peace and harmony,”said Rawat, while also opining that one must analyse one’s weaknesses and think in the interest of the generations to come.

The president of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha Amar Singh Bhadauria, vice president Subhash Chandra and district magistrate Harbans Singh Chugh were also among those present on the occasion.
