Baba Ramdev slams JNU students for burning PM's effigy

Published on:

Baba Ramdev has strongly condemned the incident of burning effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of Dusshera celebrations by a section of students of Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Ramdev said that torching an effigy of the PM comparing him to the demonic Ravana amounts  to  hurling an insult on the people and the  Parliament of the country. Notably besides Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, the effigies had faces of Baba Ramdev, Sadhvi Pragya, Nathuram Godse, Asaram Bapu and JNU vice-chancellor Jagadesh Kumar.

Speaking to the media persons at Patanjali Yog Peeth on Friday, Ramdev said, “Crores of Indians have elected Narendra Modi as their PM through ballots. Such acts are despicable as they  insult the spirit of democracy  India is proud of,” he  said, adding that a sadhu like  him was not spared. “May God give them enough of discrimination to differentiate Rama from Ravana,” he  said.
