The Health and Sports Minister of Haryana Anil Vij said the BJP Government in the State has decided to take service from the Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for the cause of yoga and Ayurveda. The Baba would serve the State as its brand ambassador, taking it to heights of excellence. Vij said this while addressing a press conference here at Pantanjali Arogyam at Kankhal, Haridwar.
He informed that the Government would set up a yoga center in each of 6500 villages located across the State. We have decided to make Haryana a global center of Yoga and Ayurveda. “This would be possible with Baba Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishan and their Patanjali Trust guiding us, he said. The Government will select qualified teachers and will send them to Patanjali in batches to be trained. There is a concept of zero period in the schools and yoga would be taught during this period to the students from class-I. The main thrust would be to make every person of the State healthy.
He added they have only one government Ayurvedic medical college in the State named Shri Krishna Ayurvedic Medical College at Kurushetra. We are planning to open more Ayurvedic medical colleges across the State. They may come up under private, government or PPP mode. In the State, there are 550 Ayurvedic doctors and all will be sent to Patanjali for refresher courses. The State Government has also decided to open an international level Naturopathy Medical College at Panchkula.
In Haryana, we have large swathes of reserved forest. Keeping this in mind, we have made a proposal to develop herbal forest. If this comes up this would be something unique in the world. Here we will grow all types of herbal species and medicinal plants, numbering about 25,000. The State is famous for begetting sportspersons. They would surely be benefitted from the Yoga and Ayurveda therapy.
Interacting with the media, Swami Ramdev said they are thankful to the previous UPA Government for instigating them to prove they are capable of doing business in the country. They left no stone unturned to stop us by foisting myriad probes on us. But this has inspired us to show excellence, he said. Through the Acharyakulam School, we are striving to prepare the world citizens for the future.
Asked to comment on the Haryana Government’s initiatives to rope him and others in taking yoga to the villages, the Swami said they would open Acharyakulam School in every district of the State. On the raging black money issue, he said they have full confidence in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Till date whatever he committed he has fulfilled and there is no reason why he would fail on this count. We should keep patience, he said.
