While unfurling 100 feet Tricolour on the occasion of the 71st Independence Day along with his close aide Acharya Balkrishna, Ramdev in the Patanjali Yog Peeth premises on Tuesday, Ramdev exhorted the people to ‘adopt ‘Swadeshi’, the ideal that  Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh Chandrashehar Azad and many others epitomised.

The herbal and Ayurvedic products manufacturing company founded by Baba Ramdev which doubled its growth in a year with Rs 10,000 crores turnover in the last fiscal has taken digital route for advertisements with immense success. For a long time, the advertisements of Patanjali Ayurved ltd were being aired on leading television channels with the Baba acting as its brand ambassador. However, now the FMCG company having taken interest  in advertisements with social media search engines and websites Google and Facebook has resulted in around 300 crore rotational viewership in the past 10 days. Notably, PAl channel on You Tube, started three years ago, has nearly one lakh subscribers while its Facebook page has 3,86,709 followers.

Buoyed by the fresh venture, Patanjali officials say that Swadeshi movement launched by Yoga guru Ramdev is now bearing fruits as it is gaining ground over the collective psyche  of the people while giving the  multi-national companies a run for their money. They further claim that Patanjali has become the fifth most sought-after brand online amongst other FMCG brands.

“We have launched a Swadeshi campaign on the social media. We have got overwhelming support as the viewership on the rotational basis has gone up to over 300 crore on social media in jusy 10 days. This is a world  record  of sorts. Besides, 20,000 unique users have joined this campaign,” Ramdev said.

Acharya Balkrishna on his part urged  the people to shun foreign goods and save India from the slavery of the multi-national companies. “Till now, the world has accepted Yoga thanks to the efforts of Patanjali. Soon the world would accept Ayurveda,” he said, adding that India is all set to become a superpower by 2040 with  Patanjali taking a leading role.
