Reacting strongly against frisking of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Azam Khan at Boston’s logan airport by the US security officials during his recent visit to USA, Samajwadi Party Uttarakhand sought resignation from Union External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid since he failed in protecting self-respect (swabhiman) of the senior Minister outside the country.
Samajwadi Party State unit president Satyanarayan Sachan said, “Union External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid should immediately resign from his post since the incident with the senior SP leader Azam Khan proves that he has been failed in protecting self-respect (swabhiman) of the Minister. So, he has no right to live on the post.” Sachan strongly condemned the incident.
He alleged that the Minister who was unable to protect the self-respect of citizen of the country should resign from his post on moral ground. Frisking of the senior Minister was an insult. Ironically, there was mum into the matter at the Central Government that should have raised the issue before the US authorities.
Angry over the matter, Sachan said that the incident left partymen shocked and they wanted that there should be some strong decision on part of the party in order to avoid such incidents with any senior leaders. He said that senior leaders should rake up the issue before the Congress, asking why Government did not pay attention to such a serious issue.
