Ayurveda docs vow to resume stir over delay in allowance

Published on:

The Ayurveda doctors of state health services have threatened to resume their agitation if the payment of Non Practice Allowance (NPA) to them is delayed further. After a long agitation the state government approved 15 percent NPA for the AYUSH doctors of the state health services.

A Government Order (GO) for 15 percent of the permissible salary (Basic pay+ Grade pay) was released on January 04 this year. However even after three months of the GO, the AYUSH doctors are yet to receive the benefit of NPA.

The Senior Vice President of the Provincial Ayurveda Medical Officers association, Dr Naveen Joshi told The Pioneer that the AYUSH doctors are getting restive due to the delay in implementation of the GO. He said that a delegation of the association had recently met the state chief Minister Harish Rawat and apprised him of the situation. Dr Joshi said that the CM called Finance Secretary Amit Singh Negi on phone and it was disclosed that the NPA to AYUSH doctors is not being disbursed due to some technical glitch. Dr Joshi said that the association would be forced to restart their agitation if the problem is not corrected soon. There are about 650 Ayurveda, 150 Homeopath and 06 Yunani doctors in the state health services.

The association of Ayurveda doctors was on path of agitation from many months on the demands of Assured Career Progression (ACP),  Dynamic Assured Career Progression (DACP), reorganization of department stricture and appointment of a person of Ayurveda services on the post of director.
