Under the banner of Social Justice Foundation (SJF) a day-long workshop was held on the subject of women safety from birth till death. The workshop focused on the need for bringing change in the system which can ensure safety of women. The rise in gender crimes in Uttarakhand was also discussed during the workshop.

Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, the previous secretary of State women’s commission, Ramindri Mandrawal said, “Every citizen in the society should think about the safety of women. It is high time that we stop considering women as objects. We are humans and should be respected equally. The second thing which can really help in lowering the crimes against women is that every women and girl should start speaking out about their problems and crime they are facing so that necessary action can be taken.”

The Director of the SJF Asha Tamta said, “It is the responsibility of every citizen to take care of the safety of women in their family and society.”

Adding more in this, industrialist SA Farukh said, “It is important that we teach our kids about respecting women and giving them equal rights from their childhood days so that they grow into good citizens of the country.”

Further, the members of the foundation discussed changes needed in the system and the importance of education and awareness among women so they can grow strong and protect themselves.

They, further, talked about children easily accessing pornographic materials and the effect it has on their mentality.
