DMMC executive director Piyoosh Rautela said that Australian High Commission’s second secretary and Consul Kellie Jackson met him and gathered information on where they should consult in case any Australian met accident while touring the State.

Rautela apprised the officials that they might consult at EOC that functions round-the-clock and may call up at his numbers. They also gathered information as to how rescue operations are carried in case of natural disaster, how long it takes in starting the rescue operation.

Rautela said that the officials from Embassy might call up him, in case they come across any difficulty in gathering information related to Australian citizens when they are on a visit to the State. They were assured that they would be informed immediately in case of any Australian citizen gets trapped in any natural disaster or fell victim to any other incident.

They also tried to know whether air ambulances were used in rescue operations.  They were also eager to know how long after rescued persons get primary treatment. The officials had discussion on other issues related to disaster management and ongoing efforts for effective disaster management.
