AUPA asks Guv to intervene as UTU-affiliated colleges hike fees

Published on:

The All-Uttarakhand Parents Association (AUPA) has asked the Governor of Uttarakhand to intervene in the fee hike of the colleges affiliated to the Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU).

In a letter directed to the governor the association said that the State Government has recently doubled the fees of engineering courses like Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and Master of Technology (M Tech) due to which it has become very difficult for poor and middle income group people to get their wards admitted in these courses.

The President of AUPA, Neeraj Singhal said that the fees structure of the government engineering colleges has now come at par with that of private colleges. He alleged that the owners of the private institutions have colluded with state government to hike the fees so that children are diverted to them.

In the memorandum the AUPA has requested the Governor to order a fee reversal and inquiry in the issue which is of immense significance for the parents of State.
