Noted lawyer and author Atul Pundir announced the launch of his debut book, ‘Itni Si Toh Baat Hai’ – a collection of poems in Hindi and Urdu. The book will be formally launched by renowned Uttarakhand based actor Tom Alter on Saturday.
Addressing the media at the Press club, Pundir said, “I believe talent is god-gifted and the poems in this book are a result of that. I was inspired to write and the journey from there on took its own course. The book is inspired by love and is dedicated to it as well. The poems in the book dwell on love in different forms, philosophical aspects and life. The 100 plus poems in this book were composed during a span of some years.
Even during my professional work as a lawyer, I have experienced some moments in the Kachehri which provided me with material to write poems. I hope my work touches lives and makes a difference in how people perceive relationships. Apart from the book, I am also experimenting with audio and video versions of the poems which have been eliciting a very good response,” he said.
The poet further said that he will donate cent per cent of the royalties from the book towards facilitating the education of poor children. The book launch on Saturday will be followed by a discussion about the poems, their inspiration and stories around them. The foreword of the book has been written by Tom Alter. Writer Brigadier (retd) CS Thapa was also present at the Press conference.
