Following the attack on senior BJP leader from Moradnagar, Brijpal Teotia by unidentified assailants in Ghaziabad, SOG of Uttarakhand had conducted a probe on the information that the suspected assailants have some links with Haridwar. However, the information was found to be unfounded after police conducted a detailed investigation on the matter.
Police said that the matter related to Haryana. Notably, the alleged assailants who were armed with AK-47 type guns had used a car belonging to Kashwi industries for the attack.
Tevatia was attacked when he was travelling in his car along with his gunman. The driver sustained serious injuries in the attack. The police department was on its toes since the morning on Friday when the information was received that the car recovered from the site of attack bore a number plate UK 08 6666 registered in Roorkee.
Speaking to ‘The Pioneer’, SSP Haridwar Rajeev Swaroop said, “The Ghaziabad police contacted us since the car was suspected to be from Haridwar. But after investigation we found that the car bore the number UK 08 W which is of Haryana and not UK08 N of Uttarakhand.”
