Assembly passes Khadi and Gramodyog Board (amendment) Act

Amid minor protest from the Opposition Benches, the House passed the Khadi & Gramodyog Board (amendment) Act-2015. Harish Chandra Durgapal said that the Government would increase the member of the board to seven from five. The Opposition members ridiculed the statement, saying that the decision was meant to employ  some unemployed Congress workers. They further said that the Treasury Bench can amend the act, given its majority, but we would lodge protest, they said.

Animal husbandry minister Pritam Singh Panwar tabled Utarakhand Cow Protection (amendment) Act-2015 and later, the  House passed the bill. After the Governor puts its seal no one can sell beef in the state and if anyone is caught doing so he would have to pay Rs2000 fine. Uttarkahand Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe Commission (amendment) Act-2015 was passed unanimously.

Uttarkahand District Planning Committee (amendment) Act-2015 was tabled by the Panchyati Raj Minister Pritam Singh. But the Opposition alleged that as per the act they (MlA) would get lesser weightage in the meeting. So there is need to study it in details.  On this matter, Treasury and Opposition agreed  to  refer the bill before a high power committee.
