Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) BS Sidhu has been nominated a member of the committee constituted by the Ministry of Home, Government of India, to select personnel from police, paramilitary forces and other security forces for President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Gallantry, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service for this year.
The police and para-military personnel are awarded by the President for gallantry and outstanding services on Republic Day eve. Along with DGP Sidhu, Assam DGP Khagen Sharma also figures in the committee. It is learnt that this committee consists of the Home Minister, CBI director, IB director and two directors from the States of the country.
