As Gairsain gets a facelift, locals wish if venue changes from building to building!

Published on:

The residents living nearby the Government  Polytechnic College at Gairsain where the special Assembly session is now being held, say in unison that the transformation of the institute into a glittering edifice in incredibly short span of time would augur well for them developmentally if the venue  of such sessions rotates from building to building, place to place.

Things are really astounding as the place where the institute’s workshops are held is now housing the session. The class rooms were converted into office rooms of several, including Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to CM, and Vidhan Sabha Secretaries among others. This aside, several rooms are now  being used as  police control rooms and reporters’ rooms.

“The  place got transformed in the least  of time. The Government machinery was set  into motion to expedite  things.  It shows how fast things  can be changed if the will is  there,” said one who was found staring wide-eyed at the new-made institute.

There are reasons for the people getting astounded. The  shining tile-bedecked floors and granite-crested stairs aside from the steely smooth roads  seem to have taken their breath away in pleasurable wonder.

The highly placed officials from different departments were found inspecting things eagle-eyed. They fear they might be posted  here permanently in case anything  goes wrong.  For instance, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) MD C Ravishankar, who is engaged in  catering to the myriad needs of those  who are now staying here, was found himself taking stock of things  in the kitchen. Things are going on pretty well, said a VIP who was found  pleased with the quality of food being served.

MlAs, who are hardly satisfied, are now all praise for   GMVN for the care the latter is taking  to humour  them the right way through their stomach.
