Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya met general manager of Uttar Pradesh Construction Corporation and senior officials of different departments in the Assembly premises on Saturday to take stock of the progress of the construction of Polytechnic Institute’s multipurpose halls and dormitories in different districts.
What came to light in course of the meeting was that the project manager had not yet cared to visit the construction site. While expressing concern over the tardy pace of the construction, the Minister asked the officials concerned to inspect the sites regularly while keeping vigil on the quality of the work. Another thing that surfaced during the meeting is the fact that land tangle is delaying the construction of Polytechnic Institute in Jageshwar assembly constituency. He instructed the executive agency i.e UP Rajya Nirman Nigam General manager to change the construction agency with immediate effect.
During the meeting, the Minister said that as under the Centralised scheme, eight female dormitories are yet to be completed. He asked the officials to ensure that the constructions are completed in a fortnight, while adding that the whole of the construction work is completed by January 2016. They would sit to review things by the end of January next, he said.
