Dehradun Minister in-charge and Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya presided over a review meeting on proposed expenditure of Rs 74.61 crore under district plan for the year 2013-14 with public representatives and district officers at Collectorate auditorium and issued necessary instructions to them on Thursday.
In his address to the public representatives and department officials, Arya said “We all should have same goal to develop the district and no one should do politic over this issue”. There is need of coordination among the district officers and public representatives for rehabilitation of the disaster affected persons in the district. Politics over developmental works in the district will not be tolerated at any cost, he added.
He directed the district officers to ensure that proposals received from the public representatives are incorporated in the district plan. large number of villages has been swept away and hundreds of families lost their homes in recent disaster of Uttarakhand. District received huge loss of properties in the disaster. The district officers need to effectively utilise central government’s funds for the development of the region.
On the occasion, Dehradun district magistrate R Meenakshi Sundaram was directed to conduct a meeting with public representatives and include their proposals in the district plan soon. Schemes to be selected on approved schemes under district plan. The district officers have been directed to prepare list of works under district plan which were not completed under approved plan 2012-13.
The district officers will have to ensure that quality is maintained on works which are in progress under district plan. Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay said that while executing disaster relief works, a memorial or a road should be made on the name of Sub divisional magistrate who recently feared drown in Mandakani River.
Among those present on the occasion were Uttarakhand cabinet minister Dinesh Aggarwal, Rishikesh MlA Premchandra Aggarwal, Mussoorie MlA Ganesh Joshi, Sahaspur MlA Sahdev Pundir, district panchayat president Madhu Chauhan, vice president Shiv Prasad Devli, chief development officer Sushil Kumar, district panchayat members and district officers.
