An artificial waterfall crafted for the first time on the slopping landscape of the GB Pant high altitude zoo, with the use of recycled water, has turned out to be big draw for the zoo visitors and the tourists in lake city, Nainital, this summer. The aforesaid high altitude zoo is already known for housing a variety of wild animals and birds that attract a huge number of visitors every year, but the flow of the artificial waterfall from 35 feet in the vicinity of this high altitude zoo, brings the visitors a step closer to the nature.
However, the artificial waterfall was constructed by a craftsman from UP’s Sambhal, Mohammad Munazir, said Manoj Shah, Range Officer of the GB Pant high altitude zoo, Nainital. The waterfall is about 35 feet high and 12 feet wide. A power-driven device uses recycled water to form an artificial waterfall in the zoo premises, added Shah.
More so, we are also planning to create one more such artificial waterfall in the zoo premises in near future. The basic purpose of constructing the artificial waterfall is only to attract more visitors to the zoo and make them aware about the wildlife, added the concerned official. Apart from these new guests, there are a number of inmate mammals like Himalayan Black Bear, Sambar, Barking Deer, Goral, Serow, Himalayan Civet, becoming centre of attractions for the visitors and animal lovers.
