To provide artificial limbs and polio calipers free-of-cost to over 350 poor people, who may have lost one or both of their limbs to an accident, injury, disease, electric shock or polio, Max India Foundation (MIF) with Manav Seva Sannidhi organised a four-day camp in Dehradun. It had started on March 21 and will conclude by Sunday.
Mohini Daljeet Singh, Chief Executive of Max India Foundation, said, “We believe in respecting every individual and helping the poor to live a healthy life of dignity. By providing an artificial limb, we not only try to overcome the physical disability of a person, but also give them new hope for life and the confidence to rebuild his/her dreams for themselves and their family. Since 2008, we have helped 2,226 people and hope to take this noble initiative to greater heights every year.”
Manav Seva Sannidhi founder and executive trustee, Singhvi, said, “It has been our humanitarian endeavour to alleviate human suffering by not just fabrication or fitment of limbs but by providing the backdrop of nurturing and caring of the patients who come, thus equipping them not only with the prostheses to enable them to physically walk again, but also restoring their dignity and self-respect, thereby healing the psychological scars of rejection by family and society.”
