The state administration has cleared the pending demands of head constables being promoted as sub-inspectors (special category). It is learnt that around 1200 head constables of the state would be benefited from the government decision. From Thursday, they would be able to use stars of sub-inspector special category.
Earlier, after paying tributes to the martyrs on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day on October 21, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat had assured the head constables that their demand on promotion as sub-inspectors (special category) would be met soon.
