AP Uniyal was elected president of the district Bar Association on Wednesday. Uniyal defeated Ashish Jadlee in a straight fight by 10 votes. Mehrawan Singh Bhandari won the election for the post of vice president by defeating Subash Raturi by three votes.
Subash Raturi had been holding the post of the vice-president for the past two terms. While Vinod Kumar was elected the secretary, Kusum Negi won as joint secretary and Mukesh Bisht as treasurer of the Bar Association. The trio has been elected unopposed. Pauri district Bar Association election officer Udai Ram Pant told The Pioneer that the election was held peacefully.
