Another Bhura aid held, looted arms seized

In a fresh development related to Bhura escape from police custody, Uttarakhand Police in conjunction with the joint teams comprising police personnel from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh arrested Arvind Rohila, native of Haryana from Subhash Nagar, Delhi and seized 32 bore pistol and four live cartridges from his possession on late Monday night.

In another development, on the information provided by Rohila, teams seized AK-47 rifle and five live cartridges. The seized AK-47 rifle was the same which was looted by the criminals from the police when gangster Bhura was being transported to the court in Baghpat on December 15. Rohila is a member of the gang of Neeraj Bawana for whose arrest Uttar Pradesh Police announced a bounty of Rs1 lakh. While being grilled, Rohila is said to have provided some inputs regarding the escape. The probe teams are working on the leads received from various sources to crack the case.

State additional director general of police (law and order) Ram Singh Meena said that the arrest of gangster Arvind and Ravi Kumar from Delhi would help them to get to the bottom of the case.  Teams are working now to recover another AK-47 rifle and SlR looted from police during the escape. Interrogation revealed that Arvind Rohila had assisted Bhura to slip into Haryana after he had escaped from police custody on December 15. Gangsters Sachin Khokhar and Naveen Bhanja had taken Bhura to Haryana border and Bhura was then handed over to Arvind Rohila who along with gangster Pramod was waiting in a car there to receive him.  Both took Bhura to an unknown place in Haryana. They stayed there for some days, shifting places frequently to elude police.

However, Uttarakhand police are still clueless on Bhura’s whereabouts with 22 days having passed since the sharp shooter gave the escorting cops a slip. It should be mentioned here that Amit Malik ‘Bhura’ had escaped from the police custody while being taken to the court in Baghpat in connection with a murder case, giving the escorting personnel a slip. The armed criminals had sprinkled chilli power on policemen and looted police of two AK-47 rifles and one self-loading rifle (SlR) aside from securing the escape of Bhura from the escorting cops.
