Various cultural programmes and sports events marked the annual sports day at Gayatri Vidyapeeth on Tuesday. The students presented a silent play meant to motivate the people for the conservation of environment. The students pledged on the occasion to keep the rivers and their surroundings clean.
Speaking on the occasion, the head of All World Gayatri Parivar Pranav Pandya said, “This is the stage when seeds of environment conservation should be sown in the minds of the children. This would help them become true champions for the cause of environment. They would then inspire others to follow their lead and the whole society would be benefitted.”
Various sports activities like banana race, lemon race, duck race, frog race, pitcher race and relay race were organised with the students as participants.
Later, the students dressed like the gods and goddesses presented cultural programmes. The principal of the school Sitaram Sinha gave the prizes to the winners.
