Activist Anna Hazare will form a team in Uttarakhand for which meetings will be held at August 11 in Rishikesh and on the next day at Rudrapur.
Hazare intends to maximise support from Uttarakhand before starting his protest in support of a strong Jan lokpal in October this year, said Jantantra Yatra state coordinator RS Chaudhary while addressing media persons in Dehradun on Friday. Chaudhary said that the Jantantra Yatra had been successful in Uttarakhand as thousands of people came forward to support Hazare and assured their support to the movement for a strong Jan lokpal.
“Anna Hazare received the support and affection of the people from Dehradun to Chamoli and from Bageshwar to Haldwani. In October, Hazare plans to once again start agitation in support of the demand for a strong lokpal at the Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Before starting this agitation, Hazare will strengthen his teams in Uttarakhand and elsewhere in the nation. A round of meetings will begin with this aim from the coming week,” said Chaudhary.
Senior members of Team Anna are expected to arrive in Uttarakhand for the meetings slated to be held at Rishikesh and Rudrapur.
After the formation of the team at the primary level, Hazare will meet the team members and motivate them for the agitation. For this, he is expected to visit Uttarakhand again before October, added Chaudhary.
