Social activist Anna Hazare has once again reiterated his demand for a strong anti-corruption law- Jan lokpal Bill in the country before the general elections in 2014.
Either bring the Jan lokpal Bill or go, roared Anna while addressing a public rally at Haldwani under his Uttarakhand visit here on Friday. If the Government doesn’t listen to our this long pending demand, a nationwide protest would be staged again before the next general elections as we did earlier in the country, demanding a strong anti-corruption law in the form of Jan lokpal Bill, Anna asserted.
The matter of fact is that this Government has only misled over one billion population of this country by giving false assurances to bring Jan lokpal Bill.
Therefore, we are again urging this Government to bring the Jan lok Bill keeping in view the sentiments of the people of this country, he added. The matter of concern is that the menace of corruption has badly hit our every sphere of life. That is why I appeal to the citizens of this country to choose only honest people with clean image so that good people could enter parliament, Anna appealed to the people.
I believe once a strong anti-corruption law in the form of Jan lokpal Bill is passed, about 50 per cent / 60 per cent corruption will be wiped out with the help of this law. It is to note that there are 163 tainted members in parliament presently and more importantly out of 35 ministers in this Congress led UPA Government, there are 15 ministers who are facing charges of corruption.
Anna further said, adding therefore, keeping in view criminalisation of politics, we all need to be careful while electing right candidate in the elections. Therefore let us pledge not to be influenced by any external pressure during the elections. When we exercise our discretion in electing a right candidate, we will then definitely be able to send right people to Parliament.
Only then we can realise a true sense of democracy in our country, he asked the people.
