Agitated over the State Government ignoring their demands, the association of Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) has decided to restart its agitation from September 6. On their six point demands the ANM workers of the state health department are on a path of agitation under the banner of their association ‘ Matra Shishu evam Pariwar Kalyan Mahila Karamchari Sangh’. The state President of the Association, Guddi Matura told newsmen here on Sunday that not even a single demand of the association is accepted even after many assurances of state Chief Minister and Health Minister in past. She said that the ANMs are feeling cheated by the government and are determined to continue their struggle. The general secretary of the association, Pawan Kumar Saini said that grade pay of the ANMs which was reduced from Rs 2800 to 2000 should be now revised.
The association is demanding that a proper departmental structure of the ANM cadre should be prepared and the process of promotion in the 257 posts of Women Health Inspectors and recruitment in vacant 440 posts of the ANMs in the health department should start.
The ANMs are also demanding the facility of U-health cards for them.
The association is alleging that large scale irregularities occurred in the appointment of ANMs in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and demanding that the state government should immediately cancel these appointments.
