The chairman of district panchayat Anjum Begum has been divested of all her administrative and financial power by the Haridwar district administration following arrest of Aamir Aazam, her husband about two weeks ago. It is pertinent to mention that Aamir Aazam is younger brother of Mohd Sahzaad , former BSP MlA from Bhadrabad area of the district. He was arrested by UP Police at Fatheganj in Bareilly district along with two others. Rs one crore was seized from their possession.
Anjum Begum informed The pioneer that all the steps taken against her are illegal. “Why should I suffer for others’ mistakeIJ” she asked.
