Angry pharmacists plan to begin stir next month

Published on:

Infuriated Government diploma pharmacists are in the mood to start agitation in the next month if the State Government does not take effective steps for fulfilling the year long pending demands of association.

The association office bearers said that that members will decide to hit the roads again after taking decision in the board meeting, which is slated to take place on December, 22. It is also equally important to mention here is that the distribution of life saving drugs and syrups were badly affected due to the agitated diploma pharmacists in all the Government hospitals and health centres under the banner of Uttarakhand Diploma Pharmacists Association (UDPA).

They decided to call off their agitation only after receiving assurance from the State Government that their demands would be discussed and fulfilled by the State Government. It is to be noted that pay anomaly, risk allowances, appointment of pharmacists, issue of seniority list, service rule, timely promotion etc. are the pending demands of Association.

While speaking to The Pioneer, BS Payal, former state president, UDPA said that members will draft the proposed agitation roster in the next meeting of office bearers, which is slated to take place on December, 22 if the State Government does not take effective steps for fulfilling the year long pending demands of the association.

He lamented that memorandum highlighting our demands was also submitted many times to top bureaucrats and public representatives but their demands are still pending.

Payal said that agitated pharmacists had called off their agitation only after receiving assurance that their demands would be fulfilled by the State Government in the given time frame and if the State Government does not take effective steps to fulfill the demands then pharmacists will again once hit the road in support of their year long pending demands.
