Seek pay revision or quashing the revised pay band of diploma Govt pharmacists
Highly infuriated over the hike in the grade pay of diploma pharmacists, the ongoing agitation by the staff nurses continued on Thursday with the agitators have also threatened to intensify their agitation in the near future.
They demanded from the State Government to either revise their pay band or quash the revised pay band of the diploma Government pharmacists. The ongoing agitation called on by the agitated staff nurses under the banner of Uttarakhand Nurses Services Association (UNSA) entered on 18th day on Thursday in support of their year long pending demands.
The agitators cleared that they will intensify their agitation if their demands are not met by the State Government in the given time frame. In order to express their grievances against the state government for not fulfilling their year long pending demands of association despite the fact memorandum highlighting their demands was submitted many times to public representatives and top bureaucrats, sisters Indu Sharma, Santosh, Poonam, Krishna Rawat, Rekha Bisht etc sat on relay strike in Doon Hospital campus.
The agitators cleared that they will withdraw their agitation only when their year long demands would be fulfilled by the State Government. The agitators lamented that pay band of pharmacists is not higher than staff nurses in anywhere in the country.
While speaking to The Pioneer, Anjana Bhowmick, State president, UNSA said that health department officials were already informed that they would hit the roads, if the State Government revises the pay band of only pharmacists.
She said that no medical cadre can perform the duties of staff nurses in the hospitals and the agitators did not allow intern nurses to cater the medical and health needs of admitted patients.
She told that agitated staff nurses are boycotting two shift duties out of three shift duties in support of their year long pending demands. Bhowmick told that and grade pay of pharmacist on first promotion is `800 more than staff nurses.
It is to be noted that admitted patients in trauma ward, orthopedic ward, pediatric ward and general ward (male and female) of the hospital are among the worst suffers as the agitated staff nurses are working only shift duty as per the norms of MCI (Medical Council of India) which clearly highlighted that one staff nurse should cater the medical need of every five admitted patients in the hospital.
Timely promotion, dress allowance, pay anomaly, risk allowance, six pay commission, appointment of the registrar, etc. are the few main pending demands of the association.
