Actress Amisha Patel held a road show in support of the Congress party candidate from Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar K C Singh Baba here in Haldwani on Sunday with securing win for the party candidate in the upcoming lok Sabha polls also becoming a case of prestige for state Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani Indira Hardiyesh as her constituency also plays a crucial role in victory of a candidate due to its special caste combination among other factors.
The fact is that after defeat of her handpicked candidate in the mayoral elections held last year for the Haldwani municipal corporation it seems the MlA from Haldwani Indira Hardiyeah seems to have become a bit cautious and is not taking any chance to ensure party lok Sabha candiadte's victory in this seat. Therefore, she brought in star campaigner like actress Patel to campaign for her party candidate. However, actress Amisha Patel accompanied by MlA Hardiyesh and her son Sumit Hardiyesh and other party leaders held the road show on the main Haldwai -Nainital Road urging the electorate the voters to extend their support to the Congress party in the upcoming lok sabha elections in the State on May 7.
More so, at the behest of MlA Indira Hardiyesh veteran Congress leader N D Tiwari , has already held public meetings in different parts of this parliamentary constituency including Bindukhatta, Haldwani to name a few recently.
It may be recalled that MlA from Haldwani Indira Hardiyesh also called in veteran Tiwari to campaign for her in 2012 assembly elections and subsequently, incumbent Hardiyesh registered a landslide victory in this Haldwani assembly constituency in the assembly polls of 2012.
However, this it is to be seen when people of Haldwani have already defeated her handpicked candidate for Haldlwani Mayor last year, it is to be seen whether the voters of Haldwani repose their faith in the Congress party or not in this seat which is considered to be a Congress pocket borough. In the meanwhile, actress Patel urged the people to support the Congress candidate, KC Singh Baba.
“It only the Congress party which could deliver on
allfronts,Therefore, I appeal to you to voter in favour of the Congress party,” she added.
