Amends in surplus teachers' transfers cancelled

Taking strong exception to the act of Additional Director (AD) Kumaon for making undue amendments in the adjustment transfers of surplus teachers following process of rationalisation and cancellation of attachments, the Director General (DG) of School Education, D Senthil Pandian has cancelled the amendment orders of AD with an immediate effect. The DG was reportedly annoyed over the reports of unwarranted amendments done by the AD Kumaon in the final list of adjustment transfers of surplus teachers and sought explanation from her.

AD Sushma Singh in her explanation blamed the wrong information provided by the district officers as the cause of the discrepancy. Pandian, however, was not convinced and appointed Director Academic Research and Training Kusum Pant as inquiry officer to investigate as to how these teachers managed to cancel their adjustment transfers. The DG has asked her to submit report within 15 days. It is learnt that the AD Kumaon kept the observer appointed by the department in dark about the amendments which were allegedly done under political pressure.
