Dr Gupta said this illness is generally seen in the age group of 65 years and above and is more common among ladies. She said that in this illness a person gradually forgets the common day today works and not recall that he has taken the meals or not. It is the progressive in nature and in this person repeatedly asks for food and other things which he/ she has already taken or done. The doctors said that as such there is no treatment for this disease but progression can be slowed down by good control of diabetes, blood pressure and keeping good health. The family member can help the patient by understanding the fact that this illness needs supports from the family and good support from them can benefit the patient a lot.
