In the wake of the implementation of the much talked about food security scheme, the district administration, Almora, has set October 10 as deadline for submission of list of those Antyodaya, BPl and APl families whose ration cards have been cancelled to the office of the District Supply Officer (DSO).
At the same time, Akshat Gupta, District Magistrate, Almora, has also asked the officials concerned to submit the list of those APl families who have been included in the newly launched food security scheme to the office of the DSO. He further said that the officials concerned should conduct open meetings in villages for cancellation of ration cards and inclusion of new names in the food security scheme, saying names of the low income group APl families must be included in the food security scheme on priority basis.
At the same time, the Almora district administration has also emphasised on the need to expedite the ration card survey work particularly in urban areas.
