Allowing 9 dissident MlAs to vote proves transparency in judicial system: Bhatt

Published on:

The decision of the Uttarakhand High Court to allow nine disqualified MlAs of the Congress to vote in the floor test to be held on March 31 has set an example of transparency in the judicial system.

It has also proved that action against the nine dissident MlAs of the Congress was motivated by political retribution after imposition of president’s rule in the State. The BJP State chief and leader of opposition in the Assembly, Ajay Bhatt said this here on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference at Nainital on Tuesday, the BJP State chief said that the action taken against nine MlAs of the Congress was done in an unconstitutional manner in retribution with imposition of president’s rule.

However, the stand of the dissident MlAs and opposition has been substantiated by the  Uttarakhand High Court decision to hold a floor-test in the Vidhan Sabha on March 31 in order for the former State Government to prove its majority in the house.
