In view of the ongoing Ardh Kumbh Mela in Haridwar and forthcoming Republic Day celebrations, Uttarakhand Home Secretary Vinod Sharma directed the Airport officers and police officers to strengthen security in the Airport Campus at Jolly Grant.
Sharma reviewed security preparedness with the Airport Security Committee members at Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun on Friday. Sharma inspected Airport campus extensively along with the Airport officers and some police officers. He directed them to be vigilant during their duty hours at the assigned places. Apart from this, they need to ensure that the passengers are spared inconveniences, he said. The local police officers and CISF officers were directed to establish coordination among themselves to ensure fool-proof security inside and outside the Airport campus. Among others who attended the meeting were Dehradun ADM (administration) Pratap Shah, Airport authority officer K Krishan Kumar and SP (intelligence) Vijay Karki.
